SEMH Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Learning Support Assistant to join an amazing team at a specialised SEMH school based in Croydon. As a SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, assisting them in their educational and personal development journey.,

• Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs, both in the classroom and during extracurricular activities.
• Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting positive relationships and student engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to address student needs effectively.
• Monitor and report on student progress, behaviors, and achievements.
  
  Previous experience working with individuals with SEMH needs, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of SEMH challenges and effective support strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in education, childcare, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
• Additional training or qualifications in special education or behavior management.
• Experience using positive behaviour support techniques.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to SEMH provision in schools.
  
  Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
