SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a passionate individual to support pupils with a variety of SEMH needs in a local specialist school. This role will be working as part of a close knit SEMH Teaching Assistant team, with a permanent position and career development opportunities available to successful candidates on a temp to perm contract. About the Role: - Supporting students with SEMH needs in their academic and social development - Working closely with teachers to implement individual education plans - Providing assistance in classroom activities and helping to create a positive learning environment - Collaborating with other members of the SEMH team to ensure the best support for students - Assisting with the organization and delivery of interventions and support programs

A passion for helping vulnerable children - Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, Mental Health, Care or other relevant experiences - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with additional needs - Ability to remain calm when faced with challenging behaviours
