Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Semi-Skilled Labourer to work as part of a team on a large test rig facility in Birchwood. This could also lead to assisting in the manufacture, installation, commissioning and decommissioning of various other test rigs for internal and external clients. You must have a good understanding of working to set method statements and risk assessments and have a keen eye on their own H&S and that of others around them. Working from written and verbal instructions and follow company H&S and quality procedures.,

  • Promote the H&S and quality processes and ensure they are followed.
  • Aim to achieve end goals set by the test facility lead or manufacturing co-ordinator.
  • Ensuring targets are met and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
  • Lead by example in areas of quality and health & safety.
  • Promote our standards including H&S, quality and the 5S standard within the workshop and lab facilities.
  • A close attention to personal safety and to the safety of others.
  • Suggest improvements to work methods and facilities.
  • Maintain good housekeeping throughout the facility.
  • Able to work flexibly and work across a broad range of activities as the role evolves.

    Requires a good all-round knowledge of engineering type skills and be able to use a wide range of hand tools.
  • Undergone some forms of formal training.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Ideally worked in an engineering type environment previously.
  • Preferably be qualified in the use of counterbalance forklift trucks.
  • Previous experience of working with overhead cranes.
