Full Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partnered secondary school team in Islington. This full-time role, starting in September, requires a candidate with a strong background in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a 1:1 basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of non-verbal/verbal Autism and experience working with individuals with diverse learning needs. Knowledge of Makaton, PECs, and Semantics is highly beneficial for this role. This position presents a valuable opportunity for any candidates with Personal or Professional experience & graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in SEN/ASD education and offers potential for career progression within the field.
Daily Duties:
- Provide personalized support to students with ASD, assisting them in their learning and development
- Implement strategies such as Makaton, PECs, and Semantics to enhance communication and understanding
- Collaborate with teachers and professionals to create individualized learning plans for students
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students, promoting social skills and independence
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to stakeholders
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in SEN/ASD education
