Full Job Description
Exemplary SEND School in the London Borough of Bromley is seeking a Monday to Friday 4pm - 6pm (10 hours a week) contract SEN School Cleaner / School Pool Cleaner to start immediately. The ideal SEND School Cleaner / School Pool Cleaner must have a strong background in school cleaning, pool maintenance, and working in a high-temperature environment. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the school premises, including the pool area, to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our students and staff.
- Perform general cleaning duties in classrooms, offices, corridors, and other areas within the school.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the pool area, including regular cleaning and disinfecting of the pool and surrounding surfaces.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate chemical levels in the pool, ensuring they meet health and safety standards.
- Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces and high-temperature areas, including restrooms and changing rooms.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Refill and stock cleaning supplies as needed.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the relevant personnel.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure a clean and safe environment for students, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Proven experience in school cleaning and pool maintenance. - Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to school and pool cleaning.
- Ability to work in high-temperature environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, particularly in a school setting.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings and evenings, as required.
- Previous experience in a similar school cleaner role, preferably in a SEND school environment.
- Familiarity with the specific needs and considerations when working in a SEND school.
- Valid certification in pool maintenance or willingness to obtain one.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo a DBS check).
