Full Job Description
The School are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to support students 1:1 and in small groups. This is a Full time role and will be with a view to going permanent. The hours will be from 8.30am-4pm, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the health and well-being of our students, working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide holistic care.
Your duties will include:
- Assist with personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and dressing.
- Support students with medical needs, such as administering medication under supervision.
- Aid in the use of specialised equipment and mobility aids.
- Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and record health observations and report any concerns to the relevant staff.
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all students.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Previous experience in a healthcare or care assistant role - Knowledge of and experience with PMLD and complex needs is highly desirable.
- Relevant healthcare or care qualifications (eg, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varied needs of the students.
- Basic First Aid certification is an advantage.
