SEN TEACHING ASSISTANT

Required to start as soon as possible

Fixed Term Contract for upto 1 year

Full Time - 8:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday, Term time only

Grade 5, SCP6 - SCP11 (Equating to £18,941 - £20,595 per annum)

Part of the Frank Field Education Trust, Handforth Grange Primary School is looking to appoint a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and experience of supporting children with specific learning difficulties and disabilities. Specific knowledge of working with children with Autism and ADHD is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher to deliver high quality learning experiences, which improve rates of progress for pupils. They will also use their initiative and be proactive in supporting individual pupils across the class. Experience of delivering interventions to improve the development of speech and language and social skills are desirable. The successful candidate will have high expectations for all the children they work with and demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills.

The role requires effective communication skills and excellent teamwork skills. In addition, the successful candidates must be committed to all aspects of school life.
