Full Job Description
This is a full-time teaching assistant position where you will work closely with a team to provide excellent care and education to young people. You will be instrumental in supporting the class teacher and students, assisting with behavioural management and supporting students' mental health needs.,
- Work under the guidance of the class teacher to support lesson delivery
- Provide support to students during lessons and throughout the school day
- Lead small group interventions to support academic and emotional development
- Provide one-to-one support to students as directed by the class teacher
- Help to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
- Support students with their social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour
- Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and monitoring progress
Very good level of spoken and written English - Strong behaviour management skills
- High levels of resilience and patience
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and in challenging situations
- Empathy and understanding of the needs of students with Autism and SEMH needs Desirable Criteria :
- Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs
- Previous experience working with secondary-age students (11-19)
- Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is an advantage
