Speech & Language (S & L) Teaching Assistant (TA)NJC Scale C - Actual Salary £9,755 - £10,078
Required as soon as possible
15 hours per week currently required (Hours of work and days to be agreed with the Speech and Language coordinator)
Temporary contract dependent on funding for specific support packages and hours may go up or down.

We are looking for an outstanding Teaching Assistant to join our creative and dedicated team. This special person will be required to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities at our school. The role is to deliver speech and language and social communication packages of support. The position will be working within EYFS and Key Stage 1. Good skills in English and Maths are paramount.
The Speech & Language packages are reviewed regularly by the Local Authority and are for a fixed term. Applications are made on an ongoing basis. The hours worked, therefore can vary between 5 hours and 20 hours. They are expected to be 15 hours until August 2025.
The role is temporary as it relates to children with specific needs and may terminate if no children required support in these areas.
Please note that our minimum requirement is GCSE A-C in English and Mathematics or equivalent; your application will not be considered without these qualifications.
Our Teaching Assistants are ambitious and often move on to complete PGCEs or take other routes into teaching. This role provides excellent work experience for candidates interested in child psychology.
All our TAs also provide support to pupils across break and lunchtimes. This requires the ability to work with all groups of children between the ages of 3 and 11 years old, along with a need to be kind, outgoing and creative
