Do you have a passion for supporting children with special educational needs and a commitment to helping them thrive? Join this compassionate team, where we provide specialized education for primary-aged students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students in their learning journey. Working closely with our SEN teachers and multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environment for children with complex needs.,

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and personalized learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for children with PMLD and complex needs, including assistance with communication, mobility, and daily care.
  • Assist in implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and supporting the development of students' sensory, communication, and life skills.
  • Help manage and utilize specialist equipment, including sensory resources, mobility aids, and communication tools.
  • Foster a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment that promotes each child's well-being and personal growth.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver a holistic and coordinated approach to care and education.
  • Assist with personal care, feeding, and medical needs in a dignified and respectful manner, ensuring the comfort and safety of each child.

    Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly those with PMLD and complex needs (desirable but not essential).
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic nature with a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Knowledge of alternative communication methods, such as Makaton or PECS (desirable but not required).
  • A willingness to assist with personal care and medical needs.
