Full Job Description

ASEND supports SEND pupils and continues their learning while they cannot access school or don't have a school place. We are looking for a supportive and compassionate SEN tutor to support an autistic young girl in her school in Bourne End.

Our pupil is a lovely 13 year old girl with Autism and ADHD. She has some difficulties with communication, but this does not hold her back from enjoying her hobbies. She is a bubbly and smiley young person who has a love for music and dance. She loves to get creative with arts and crafts. Our pupil is eager to learn and develop her communication skills.

She has recently been working on numeracy and literacy. She is learning about addition and subtraction and building on the number of words she uses when she speaks. Social stories have been touched on but are an area to be explored more. An ideal tutor for this pupil would be someone who can help improve her social and communication skills. Someone who is able to incorporate her interests into her learning and make it more engaging is essential. A tutor who can deliver core lessons on English, Maths and Science at Key Stage 3 level will be crucial.

About you:

-You'll have some experience with SEN: ASD. Learning Delays and ADHD
-You may be an experienced tutor or teacher or have experience working with children in a therapeutic way
-You'll have a passion for helping pupils overcome any barriers to learning and difficulties with engagement
-You'll be good at building rapport and strong relationships with children and their families - we work closely with families to create a plan
-Ideally, have some experience of helping children with their learning
-Have the ability to motivate and inspire pupils
-Use a person-centred approach in their work
-Make the wellbeing, achievement, and progress of your pupils central to everything that you plan and do
-Have the determination and energy to bring about continuous improvement.
