SEN Tutor

We are looking for inspirational tutors to support children and young people with SEND in Ealing. We support pupils with SEND who are not attending school for a number of reasons including Mental Health issues, or lack of a suitable school place. We aim to prepare them for a return to mainstream or special school.

We are looking for a tutor to support an 11-year-old boy in Ealing with his academics and improve his non-verbal communication. Our pupil has a diagnosis of ADHD and Autism and can find it challenging to concentrate and may sometimes present rigid thinking. He is an extremely intelligent young man who is able to grasp new concepts quickly, particularly in topics related to science and maths. He needs some more support with developing his comprehension skills, however. Our pupil has great energy and an enthusiasm for learning, where he has expressed interest in expanding his knowledge to history and other subjects. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends and going out on trips.

The ideal tutor for this pupil would be someone who has experience working with pupils with ADHD and Autism. The tutor should have experience implementing strategies that help pupils with Autism and ADHD engage in learning. Someone who can also develop non-verbal communication and social skills would be a great bonus., You'll have some experience with SEN: ADHD, Autism, Speech and language communications needs, Behaviours of concern
You'll have experience helping pupil progress in their academic learning
You may be an experienced tutor or teacher or have experience working with children in a therapeutic way
You'll have a passion for helping pupils overcome any barriers to learning and difficulties with engagement
You'll be good at building rapport and strong relationships with children and their families - we work closely with families to create a plan
Ideally, have some experience of helping children with their learning
Have the ability to motivate and inspire pupils
Use a person-centred approach in their work
Make the wellbeing, achievement, and progress of your pupils central to everything that you plan and do
Have the determination and energy to bring about continuous improvement.
