Full Job Description

We are looking for inspirational tutors to support children and young people with SEND in Uxbridge. We support pupils with SEND who are not attending school for a number of reasons including Mental Health issues, or lack of a suitable school place. We aim to prepare them for a return to mainstream or special school., We are looking for a tutor to support a 15 year old boy in Uxbridge. He has a diagnosis of Autism and has severe learning difficulties due to global developmental delay and medical needs. Despite these challenges, our pupil has maintained a sociable nature and has been able to build friendships with his peers. He is a great mathematician and has developed a good sense of early maths. He enjoys spending time with his friends, books and playing with cars and buses. He has also made some great progress in identifying different emotions.

Our pupil can sometimes experience anxiety and fluctuations in mood, so a tutor who can help out with emotional regulation would be essential. Someone who also has experience working with severe learning difficulties would be crucial to develop skills in literacy and numeracy.

If you think this is not the right role for you, do still apply as we are always on the lookout for people with different expertise to work with our pupils in various locations.

About you:
You'll have some experience with SEN: ASD, severe learning difficulties
You'll have experience helping pupil progress in their academic learning
You may be an experienced tutor or teacher or have experience working with children in a therapeutic way
You'll have a passion for helping pupils overcome any barriers to learning and difficulties with engagement

Ideally, have some experience of helping children with their learning
Have the ability to motivate and inspire pupils
Use a person-centred approach in their work
Make the wellbeing, achievement, and progress of your pupils central to everything that you plan and do
Have the determination and energy to bring about continuous improvement.

At ASEND you will always be well supported by our highly qualified and experienced team and well-remunerated for your work.
