SENCO (Full Time, Permanent)

MPS/UPS plus SEN TLR with the possibility of Leadership position for the right candidate

REQUIRED FOR JANUARY 2025

At Heart of England we believe in creating futures. Over several years we have created a curriculum model that resists gimmicks and short term gains at the expense of real, deep learning. Our vision is simple; we create futures and that includes ensuring our staff have them too. At Heart of England we are clear in our approach to professional wellbeing, which is crucial at a time of ever-shifting challenge.

We believe in agency and autonomy for our staff. We believe that the same intellectual curiosity that led you to want to study your subject at university and then teach it to others is what makes you best placed to make decisions about the way you teach your subject now and lead on special educational needs. We believe that when it comes to learning and teaching our motto, "No One Way ... By Design", encapsulates our philosophy of enabling staff to deliver the best possible outcomes for all students in a culture that acknowledges variety whilst grounded in shared values and consistency of approach in our decided essentials.

The successful candidate will share in our ambition that learning be an adventure, and as SENCO you will be pivotal in developing the skills, knowledge and confidence of both our staff and students on their journey success. You will work across the school to secure the highest possible standards, supported by a dedicated and determined team who share in our determination of 'creating futures'.

Our ideal candidate will:

· possess excellent communication skills and have experience of working with a variety of stakeholders

· be passionate about embedding successful approaches across the school, partnership network and beyond

· have a clear understanding of SEND provision and collaborative working to ensure the best possible outcomes for students

· have experience of developing and implementing appropriate systems that ensure students and their needs are known by all

· be confident in modelling best practice in the classroom from which others can learn

At Heart of England we describe ourselves as 'constructively discontent'. We foster a culture of collaboration, enquiry and professional pride and if you share our ambition we look forward to you joining our adventure to excellence.

Heart of England School is committed to keeping children, young people and vulnerable adults safe. The post holder is responsible for promoting and supporting a culture of vigilance with regard to safeguarding the welfare of the children, young people and vulnerable adults for whom she/he is responsible or come into contact with.
