Full Job Description

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the provision for these students, ensuring their individual learning needs are met through innovative and targeted interventions.   • Lead and manage the school's SEN provision, ensuring compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and regulations.
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans (IEPs) and coordinate multi-agency support for students with SEMH and Autism.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure effective strategies are in place for students' social, emotional, and academic progress.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to teaching staff on best practices for SEN education.
  • Monitor the progress and wellbeing of SEN students and adjust interventions as needed to improve outcomes.
  • Oversee Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and liaise with parents and carers to foster strong home-school partnerships.

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate SENCO to join a specialist SEN school in Sutton. The school provides tailored education for students aged 11-19 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)., Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) qualification is required.
  • Extensive experience working with students with SEMH, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other special educational needs.
  • Strong knowledge of current SEN legislation and best practices in inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
