Rainham Village Primary School & Nursery is an inclusive primary school situated in Rainham, Essex. The school aims to provide a broad, balanced and challenging curriculum within a happy learning environment. As a school we strive to support all children including those who need a high level of personalised planning and who find it difficult to access subject specific learning. You would be responsible for our SEND model and the quality of provision for all pupils on the SEND register, ensuring that all pupils are able to engage effectively in school life and learning, whatever their needs, and, where appropriate, make progress from their starting points. As a good classroom practitioner, you will support quality first, inclusive teaching. You will ensure our school continues to benefit from and contributes to local networks, disseminating guidance and training. You should be organised, IT efficient and passionate about improving outcomes for our vulnerable children. We are looking for a candidate who will:
- Lead by example and inspire, motivate, challenge and support an committed team of support staff
- Be committed to and champion inclusion for all children.
- Have a commitment to delivering and receiving professional development and be reflective on their practice
- Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN and Inclusion policy and coordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability
Have a good knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice, its application within schools and interventions for a range of SEN - Have experience of working with external partners, relevant agencies and parents to effectively support and improve outcomes for vulnerable pupils and families We would welcome applications from experienced teachers who want to make a significant contribution to the provision and outcomes for our vulnerable pupils. We would expect the successful candidate to have completed the National award for SENCO accreditation/NPQ for SENCOs. Previous experience of the role within a primary setting is essential.
