Full Job Description

Paignton Academy are looking to appoint a SEND House Liaison to help better identify the SEND needs of students and improve the SEND offer by ensuring clear, consistent and supportive lines of communication are developed between the school, home and external stakeholders. The SEND House Liaison will also be responsible for streamlining communication and requests for support between the SEND department and with teaching staff. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with drive and passion to support improved outcomes for SEND students, under the guidance of the Lead SENCO. The House Liaison will be a key link between the SEND department and the House teams, and will be a critical role to improving the outcomes of PA SEND students. This is a temporary, part time role working 32 hours per week. It is expected to last for up to 1 year maternity cover.

At Paignton Academy, we seek to develop all students, both academically and socially, as well as culturally and emotionally. During their time at Paignton Academy, we will ensure that students receive excellent teaching and learning within a highly disciplined but supportive environment, so that they have the very best opportunity to be their best self. More than this, we also develop a deep sense of social, civic and personal responsibility within our students. We set very high expectations and focus on areas such as kindness and community whilst ensuring that good work, citizenship, progress and attainment is always formally recognised and celebrated throughout the school. 'Leaders and staff promote a sense of belonging at Paignton Academy, with the view that 'we may be two sites but we are one school' Ofsted July 2022, The Thinking Schools Academy Trust has been ranked as the highest performing trust in the South East and in the top 15 academy trusts in England, out of more than 100. - 2020 DfE report
