Full Job Description

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact within our SEND and Inclusion service? Join us as an Educated other than in School (EOTIS) SEND Lead Worker and help improve outcomes that bring positive changes to the lives of families and children/young people with SEND.

We take great pride in our passionate and enthusiastic approach, delivering high quality support tailored to the unique needs of every individual. Our focus is on preventive and early intervention, ensuring that our services are child, young person, and family-centred, always listening to and responding to their voices.

As an EOTIS Send Lead Worker, you will serve as the regular and consistent point of contact for children, young people with SEND, and their families throughout the Education, Health and Care Process (EHCP) process. You will ensure the appropriate arrangement of services, advice, support and guidance. A key part of your role will be identifying when specialist involvement is needed such as from social workers, educational psychologists, occupational therapists, and other professionals, making the necessary referrals, and ensuring smooth communication with these specialists.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated individual who is highly organised and possess strong knowledge of the SEND code of practice and national policies in relation to children's services. Extensive experience in supporting and working in partnership with children, young people, and their families, particularly those with SEND will be essential. Our ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a level 4 qualification, with at least two years of experience in early years, social care, health, or education. As the role requires regular travel, a full UK driving licence is essential.

To change everything around you, change where you work

Whether your aspirations lie in children's services or adult care, you can build a life that has real balance at Wiltshire Council. We are a positive and innovative place to work and bring a genuine can-do approach to everything we do. We have simplified our structures to ensure that our decisions are focused on our communities. Protecting the vulnerable is one of our key priorities - help us achieve this.

Our promise to you

We are innovating to create strong communities - we will empower you to share your ideas, to make suggestions and to help us find new solutions to old problems, whilst supporting you with the latest technology and encouraging collaboration with our communities, partners and colleagues.

We don't focus on limitations; we focus on opportunities and possibilities. In doing so, we're perfectly placed to help you achieve your potential and enjoy a truly fulfilling career. And this means you'll be able to empower our communities too, working collaboratively to help our residents live happier, healthier lives.

Our focus is on creating strong communities and we need aspirational, committed social workers. Learn about our approach to social care, our new social care academy and browse our vacancies.

We give our staff the opportunity to learn, develop, and grow. Our induction process for new starters is excellent, and you will receive regular supervision and training, access to memberships and subscriptions such as Research in Practice and Social Care Information and Learning Services (SCILS), team meetings, peer groups, journal clubs - the list goes on!
