Full Job Description

We are offering an opportunity to be part of our fantastic school, which aims to provide a personalised education for every child. This could be the ideal role for you if you are passionate about making a difference to the lives of the most vulnerable children who need additional support in maintaining their educational engagement. Alongside supporting the pupils' engagement with their formal education you will also have the chance to develop their skills and resilience to succeed in their futures and achieve their full potential. This will include working with them in lessons either 1:1 or in small groups, running interventions for them, supporting with related paperwork and co-ordinating with relevant stakeholders.Furthermore this post will be specialising in supporting pupils who access The Hive, our new Specialist Resource Provision for pupils with Autism.
We are looking for SEND Learning Mentors who are:
+ committed team players with energy and drive;
+ able to support children with a range of social and emotional challenges;
+ able to deliver support, both in lesson and small groups in reading, writing and mathematics;
+ dedicated, enthusiastic, patient and caring.

We welcome applications either from those with experience in supporting learning in the classroom or who have experience in supporting children with a range of other special educational needs, or from graduates, who are looking to gain in-school experience before Teacher Training.
The successful candidate will:-
+ Contribute towards the Academy's and Trust's vision and ethos
+ Enjoy completing their work in a professional and positive manner, relish solving problems and take pride in helping people
+ Have a genuine passion and belief in the potential of every student
+ Have strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
+ Demonstrate honesty and integrity
+ Be highly motivated and have a flexible approach towards work and working hours
+ Have knowledge of and experience of working with external agencies and voluntary groups is desirable
+ Have a strong academic track record

Working 37 hours a week
Term Time + 2 additional weeks (to include INSET Days)
