Full Job Description

  • Implement the SEN policy and provision in line with statutory requirements and best practice under the guidance of the SENCO.

  • Carry out day-to-day identification, assessment, and provision of support for students with special educational needs, ensuring their individual needs are met effectively.

  • Liaise with staff to provide support and enhance their understanding of SEN principles and best practices.

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, clinical staff and external agencies to develop and implement personalized learning plans for students with SEN. Co-ordinate EHCP provision and specified interventions, skill up TA's where needed to deliver interventions.

  • Lead on annual reviews, develop great relationships with parents and external SEND caseworkers.

  • Submit high quality annual review paperwork to LA's.

  • Co-ordinate external neurodevelopmental pathway referrals and liaise with paediatricians, health teams and other external agencies as needed.

  • Co-ordinate EHCP provision and specified interventions, skill up TA's where needed to deliver interventions.

  • Keep an up-to-date provision map.

  • Manage and carry out day-to-day SEND tasks as required.

    Extensive SEN experience with SEN related qualifications.

  • Proven experience working as a SEND manager/Assistant SENCO or related role within a school setting.

  • Strong understanding of SEN best practice.

  • Highly organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
