SEND Teaching Assistant

Team Educate is seeking dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistants with SEN experience. Specifically, we are looking for Teaching Assistants with experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and ASC in young people
What does a Teaching Assistant do?
+ Provide support in and out of lessons for pupils with SEND
+ Assisting pupils with class work and utilising strategies to engage them in their learning
+ Assisting pupils in developing their holistic wellbeing, by facilitating social interactions, supporting group activities and building effective communication skills
+ Communicating effectively with class teachers and other support staff to provide bespoke support to each pupil
+ Building a strong rapport with young people to foster effective working relationships to facilitate academic and social development
What does a Teaching Assistant need?
+ A background in working with young people, either in mainstream, a special school setting, or in residential/care settings
+ Experience of supporting pupils with SEND
+ The ability to build a strong rapport quickly with young people and maintain productive relationships with pupils
+ A pro-active attitude and the ability to judge situations effectively, responding appropriately to different needs
+ A strong personality to help engage young people in their learning
