Full Job Description

anzuk education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching assistant to provide 1:1 support for a non-verbal child in year 2 at a three form entry primary school in the heart of Elmbridge, Surrey. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey, helping them thrive in a supportive and nurturing environment,

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a non-verbal child, ensuring their educational, social and emotional needs are met
  • Assist with implementing personalized learning strategies and communication methods (e.g, PECKS, Makaton, or other communication tools).
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support the child's integration and progress within the classroom
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that promotes the child's engagement and well-being
  • Help with any additional care needs as required, including personal care if necessary

    Experience working with children with SEND, particularly non-verbal children, is essential
  • Knowledge of communication techniques such as PECS or Makaton is desirable
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with the child and their family
  • Strong team work and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the wider school team
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, committed to making a positive impact
  • You will be required to hold a current enhanced DBS or willing to apply for one through us and provide references to cover previous employment. anzuk Education is APSCO+ accredited with a designated and experienced compliance team. We will guide you through the process of getting clear to work in UK schools.

    Salary: £96.92 - £108.30 (Umbrella contract, PAYE option available) The school: The school is rated 'Good' by Ofsted. The school is also split over two sites. The senior leadership team is hands on, supportive and personable which creates a happy and friendly environment. The school believe that by working together as a team they will continue they will continue to improve the high standards of teaching and learning. The school is easily accessible, located just a short walk from the train station on the overground south-west train line but also has plenty of parking available to staff.
