Full Job Description

Undertake training to support children with medical or educational needs.

Deliver high quality support to children who may find the school environment challenging through nurture

The post will involve :

Supporting in the delivery of high quality, inclusive teaching and learning activities

Observing children who are finding aspects of school challenging at various times of the day.

Assisting the teacher in the management and preparation of resources

Adapting planning to meet the needs of the pupils

Supporting in the recording and collation of evidence for assessment purposes

Delivering interventions outside of the classroom

Willingness to participate in Team Teach handling as appropriate

The Headteacher and Governors are looking to appoint an experienced, highly motivated SEND Teaching Assistant to be responsible for supervision and development of a complex needs child in school.

The successful candidate will need to be able to :

Form positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff

Work effectively as part of a team but be able to use their own initiative to improve outcomes for all pupils

Have experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs

Demonstrate that they have high expectations for behaviour whilst promoting fair and inclusive practises

Show a commitment to their professional development, An incredibly supportive staff team who are keen to learn

Applicants should possess a high standard of spoken and written English and have GCSE English and Maths (A-C grades or equivalent).

Previous experience of running interventions or knowledge of Special Educational Needs pupils would be an advantage.

Hours of Work : Monday to Friday 8 : 30am to 3 : 30pm 1 hour lunch break

Contract Type : Permanent, Term Time only

Salary Grade : Scale 4, points 7 to 11 - £24,294 to £25,979 FTE

salary will be pro rata to part time, term time hours
