About Us: Lancashire County Council is dedicated to supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We are seeking an experienced SEND Tribunal Manager to lead our SEND Tribunal process.,

  • Tribunal Management: Lead the Local Authority's response to SEND Tribunal appeals and develop action plans.
  • Mediation and Resolution: Facilitate mediation sessions to resolve disputes early.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with parents, schools, and legal services.
  • Case Supervision: Manage a team, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Policy and Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Training and Support: Provide training on tribunal processes and best practices.
  • Data Management: Maintain records and produce reports.

    Qualifications: Law degree or equivalent experience; managerial qualification or experience.
  • Experience: Similar role within a Local Authority or educational/legal environment.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, excellent communication, and organisational skills.
  • Other: Commitment to equality, diversity, and health and safety. Essential car user post.
