SENDCO

Salary: Inner London (competitive based on skills and experience)

Location: Stratford, Newham

Contract: Permanent, full-time, subject to an Enhanced DBS check

School 21 is a pioneering 4 to 18 school in Stratford, East London that is developing a rich curriculum and a range of exciting pedagogies.

We are looking for an outstanding SENCDO who is a great teacher and understands learning, someone who has experience and expertise in supporting all children to succeed whatever their starting point, whatever their needs.

Reporting to the Deputy Head Teacher, you will be working with teachers and

children in both primary and secondary and overseeing provision and progress for all SEND children. It is therefore essential that you already hold the SENCO qualification and have a background in SEND provision. You will lead a team of two assistant SENDCOs (1 primary and 1 secondary) and a large team of support staff.

School 21 is a very special and different kind of place to work in. All of us are

striving to become pioneers (rethinking key aspects of education practice),

multipliers (growing others and building teams), craftspeople (who think deeply about their practice) and people with integrity and humanity (driven by a strong sense of values and purpose). This is what we are looking for in new members of staff. We empower staff to find their voice and their creativity. We offer collaboration and learning across ages and subjects. We believe strongly in developing the full potential of all staff.

At School 21 we believe that the purpose of education is to develop the whole child:

head (academics), heart (character and well-being) and hand (generating ideas,

problem solving, creating extraordinary authentic outcomes).

ABOUT SCHOOL 21:
