Consider a career at WMG and get the best of both worlds - an innovative global music company that retains the creative spirit of a nimble independent., In the Senior Accountant - FTC role your objective will be to gain a detailed understanding of complex digital and intercompany accounting processes, and then to facilitate process improvements while working closely with the rest of the finance team. You will then provide support for these new processes as we transfer to a new ERP. Here you'll get to:
  • Manage the preparation of digital revenue accruals and their associated costs, reviewing estimations for current month revenue and the monthly pipeline revenue schedule
  • Liaise with business partners on global deals and ensuring consistent business practice across the group
  • Manage digital provider deal financials including deal economics, minimum guarantees, earnings, and recoupment
  • Work closely with the Digital processing team to ensure completeness of DSP revenue, reporting and cash received
  • Work with FP&A to review month end accounting against forecasts
  • Manage the monthly repatriation process to affiliates for digital sales collected centrally and arrange payment through to repertoire owner
  • Aged debtor analysis to assess financial risk and determine relevant provisions, including risk presentations to senior exec
  • Develop positive relationships with affiliates across the world, to provide support and assist with their queries as and when required
  • Ensure that the group transfer pricing policy is adhered to, and get involved in discussions with international labels around any variances or issues that may arise on the associated royalties and settlements
  • Be a key part of the team responsible for the transition to a new ERP system. This will include transferring data to new the system, implementing, testing and reviewing processes in the ERP in all areas related to digital financial reporting, including onward accounting to affiliate territories (Transfer Pricing), ensuring no gaps in process.
  • Review and follow up of issues that arise once the new ERP goes live with the ERP Project team.
  • Ad-hoc assignments and projects as required

    ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) qualified
  • Microsoft Office suite, including advanced Excel skills
  • You have excellent oral/written communication skills
  • You have the ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • You are able to perform in a fast-changing environment
  • You take own initiative and responsibility over own workload, while working within the goals of the team
  • You are friendly and have a fun personality
  • We'd love it if you also had:
  • Knowledge of nominal ledgers and database management systems (eg. Oracle GFS, Business Objects, HFM, SAP, Vistex).
