If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you., As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for the management and delivery of key finance processes relating to Primary Care. This will include assessing the impact of policy change and ensuring that accounting processes are aligned accordingly. Also there will be close working relationship requirements with key process suppliers such as the NHS Business Service Authority to ensure effective delivery of their services. The work will cover the key primary care finance elements of general practice, dentistry, ophthalmic and pharmacy, This requires adaptability, rigor and innovation and provides exciting development opportunities. You will:
1. Have a CCAB qualification. The post holder will support the team to understand primary care policy and processes and provide verbal and written monthly updates to the wider primary care community.
2. Provide accounting analysis from the variety of sources within primary care to ensure stakeholders deliver within NHSE's documented policy and financial controls.
3. Support the Finance Manager to ensure the regions and local offices are fully supported to resolve operational primary care transactional issues.
4. Support the team to assess and review primary care improvements, engaging and working with colleagues to ensure best practice process adoption.
5. Support the team in a range of business initiatives and projects using strong communication skills to provide guidance on primary care operational finance delivery.

The Primary Care Operational Finance Team in the NHS England Finance and Planning Directorate is recruiting a Senior Accountant.
