Providing the key link between programmes and the central finance, planning, workforce planning and strategy teams.

Planning future years spend and supporting the NHSE annual budget build process.

Routine in-year reporting on financial progress across admin, programme and SDF budgets and ensuring that accounting policies and processes are adhered to so that the journal and ledgers reflect a true and fair position.

Supporting programmes to forecast robust and evidence-based pay and non-pay forecast to yearend, highlighting risks and opportunities to facilitate good financial decision making.

Providing expertise and advice on costing, pricing, financial mechanisms, allocations, controls and reporting options for funds which are distributed to the system.

Supporting directorates on value-for-money assessments, financial modelling and investment appraisals of existing and new funding and policy proposals.

The Finance and Planning Business Partnering in the NHS England Finance and Planning Directorate is now recruiting for Senior Accountant.

decide how to distribute the funding to the different NHS services and parts of England.

support innovative programmes that improve the care and experience of NHS patients or people using NHS services

set out the financial and performance priorities the NHS should be delivering each year.

report how much the NHS has spent on providing services each year.

The Finance and Planning Business Partner teams are the bridge between the project and programme teams in NHS England's directorates and the specialist finance teams. As a Senior Accountant, you will be part of the Health and Justice and Armed Forces Finance and Business Partner team (3fte) which is one of four teams responsible for providing management and financial accounting support to a wider range of stakeholders and their teams including the New Hospital Programme., The NHS England board have set out the top-level purpose for the new organisation to lead the NHS in England to deliver high-quality services for all, which will inform the detailed design work and we will achieve this purpose by:
