Full Job Description

Royal London is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver innovative technology solutions. This role involves working with product owners and business analysts to translate business requirements into effective technology designs. Responsibilities include extending or adapting existing solutions, integrating new solutions with current systems, and ensuring the reuse of shared platforms. The Software Engineer will design and develop business systems, interfaces, databases, and reporting systems to support corporate objectives. They will apply their expertise in software development to create robust, scalable, and efficient solutions, ensuring continuous improvements in availability, currency, and commerciality, all aimed at enhancing customer choice.,

  • Create and Deliver Solutions: Develop technology solutions that meet business requirements, modify existing solutions, and integrate new ones with current systems.
  • Implement Security Standards: Ensure application-level security, including role-based permissions and access auditing, in coordination with the Security team.
  • Develop Efficient Solutions: Focus on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and minimal environmental impact while developing and configuring technology solutions.
  • Test and Document: Collaborate with Quality Engineering and Infrastructure teams to test solutions for functionality and performance and ensure thorough documentation of designs and configurations.
  • Support and Improve: Address break-fix issues, drive ongoing improvements, support continuous integration and deployment, and manage site monitoring and observability tools., Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory for data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration from various sources.
  • Data Transformation & Modeling: Utilize Azure Data Factory and Databricks to build scalable data processing workflows, develop data models, and optimize query performance in Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Data Warehouse & Analytics Solutions: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement data lake and warehouse architectures and create optimized data models for BI and analytics.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Implement data governance practices to ensure data accuracy and integrity and enforce data quality checks using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
