Full Job Description
We are now looking for a Senior Administrative Officer (Finance Business Support) to join our Birmingham campus on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week., The Senior Administrative Officer: Finance Business Support will assist the Campus Finance Manager and the Senior Finance Business Partner (IICL) in producing accurate and timely key management and financial information using financial planning monitoring tools and models to enable effective management decision making. This will involve being the key point of contact overseeing all matters related to student finances across the Institute, providing support to students according to priorities of the academic cycle working collaboratively with internal and external colleagues. The Post holder will be expected to work closely with the Student Loan Company and manage the Institute's student debt, delivering high quality customer services and administrative support. Main duties will include:
- Key IICL point of contact for students' finance queries giving advice on all matters related to tuition fees and working closely Student Loans Company as well as colleagues across the University.
- Monitor IICL student debt and prepare regular student debt reports for the Institute's senior management.
- Produce student withdrawal and retention reports for use by the IICL senior management to help them make informed decisions and improve academic outcomes.
- Liaise with the University's central Purchase Ledger team to ensure the Institute's invoices are paid in a timely manner.
- Manage the Institute's corporate credit card purchases and prepare necessary reconciliations for submission to central Finance.
- Support the Campus Finance Manager and the Senior Finance Business Partner in preparing IICL budgets, business plans and forecasts along with monitoring costs against budgets., Please note, this application process does not include the option to submit a CV. You should also have: - Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience
- Knowledge of Student Loan Company and its processes
- Previous experience providing student support in a Higher Education setting
- Effective organisational skills and demonstrable attention to detail
- Effective and relevant IT skills
- Significant experience in providing customer service or service support
- Effective communication skills, with an ability to communicate at all levels of an organisation
- Ability to manage workload, organising and prioritising work to meet strict financial deadlines
- An ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, when working to a specific project brief and produce measurable results
