Full Job Description

  • Act as a true Analytics Business Partner to ensure Bupa commissions high quality, cost effective and convenient healthcare for our members.

  • Lead on designing and delivering robust and highly effective analytic solutions and projects to identify areas of inefficiency, help design pathway solutions, and estimate the value at stake for our transformation activities to enable data driven decision making.

  • Proactively engage with stakeholders to design and develop MI which will support data-driven decision making. Assess in-life performance of all our healthcare improvement initiatives and report that through internal performance tracking processes.

  • Specify and apply robust statistical methodologies to evaluate our healthcare improvement initiatives to identify emerging trends and opportunities for optimisation and expansion.

  • Substantiate the benefits of our healthcare improvement initiatives so that the business can then market the healthcare advantages Bupa can offer to our customers.

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in utilising Bupa's data for healthcare analytics and insights, including leading on data modelling and federated logic across the business.

  • Oversee the work of junior analysts and provide guidance and mentorship.

    + Bachelor's degree in a numerical or analytical related field (essential)

  • + Master's degree in numerical or healthcare related field (desired) or equivalent demonstrable skills
    + 4+ years relevant experience (essential)
    + Exceptional analytical thinking abilities, capable of sound decision-making, and able to understand wider business issues without losing sight of the detail.
    + Demonstrate innovative, lateral, and creative thinking and have the broad knowledge and commercial aptitude to contribute ideas on all aspects of the organisation.
  • Technical skills:

  • + Proficient in at least one coding language (SQL, SAS, R, ) and a demonstrable ability to learn new technologies. (essential)
    + Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint. (essential)
    + Experience in developing and using statistical models and techniques to analyse data and draw conclusions. (essential)
    + Experience utilisation statistical techniques to evaluate real world causality using administrative data. (desired)
    + Experience using visualisation software such as Power BI, Tableau and/or R-Markdown (essential)
  • Leadership skills:

  • + Leaderships and ownership: the individual will have strong sense of ownership, deep experience of working as lead analyst on large & complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and complex technologies.
    + Influence and lead: the individual will possess gravitas to influence and lead decision making for business colleagues and to oversee the work of junior members of the team.
    + Self-motivation: the individual will take initiative, with the ability to stay focused to produce high quality work with minimal supervision.
  • Communication skills:

  • + Strong stakeholder management skills, where complex solutions are communicated in a clear and concise manner and tailored to the audience.
    + Influential storytelling: ability to convey complex data in a compelling narrative.
    + Highly effective interpersonal skills with a clear, concise, and relevant communication style.
    + Excellent presentational skills, including experience in presenting to senior stakeholders.
