Full Job Description

This role is based in our Lifts & Escalator (L&E) management team, which oversees the performance of our national portfolio of L&E assets. The successful candidate will lead L&E asset management activities, as well as deliver projects within our L&E Improvement Programme. L&E asset management activities include aligning our asset management strategy with policy, developing our asset management plans, and optimising our maintenance strategy. The improvement programme is a complex portfolio of technical, operational and business process improvements to modernise our approach to the management of lifts and escalators and improve asset performance. As a team we manage, maintain, and renew Lifts and Escalators (L&E) assets on behalf of our customer, the region. The quality and availability of L&E is critical to customer experience at our relevant stations. We also manage the mandatory inspections to guarantee compliance of L&E assets across the network.   • We employ an asset management approach ISO55001 approach to make sure the demand is supported by quality spares when they are needed, skills and ability of the teams aligned to technology and provide innovation only when it adds value to the activity
  • Main Responsibilities Develop engineering requirements to support asset and system lifecycles, from specification of design requirements, through operations, maintenance, renewal, and refurbishment interventions. Production of requirement specifications and acceptance criteria for various discipline assets. Providing assurance that requirement specifications are developed in accordance with company asset policies with a particular focus on driving reliability and performance improvements.
  • Develop requirement specifications to provide compliance with company asset strategies including the development and maintenance of specific asset management plans.
  • Provide engineering input to the development of requirements and standards in accordance with company policies, asset management policies, industry and company specifications.
  • Provide a comprehensive systems engineering support service within Engineering Services, as and when required in order to drive reliability and performance improvements across assets as required.
  • Monitor the reliability and performance of assets across the portfolio and instigate and participate in the development of improvement plans as required. Monitor their implementation and evaluate the success of such plans.
  • Provide technical briefings in order that the purpose, as well as the content of standards, specification, etc. is understood.
  • Review opportunities and requirements across asset base for sustainability improvements and develop recommendations considering whole system lifecycle.

    · Level 6 qualification (Degree/ NVQ/Degree Apprenticeship/BTEC qualification) in engineering related subject with significant relevant experience.
  • · Demonstrable Asset Management and systems engineering experience. · An understanding of asset engineering policy and technical, safety and performance standards. · Effective communication skills, comfortable presenting and writing and producing clear documentation. Desirable · Membership of relevant professional institution · An understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques · Experience in the integration of complex engineering systems · Experience in reliability engineering and data analysis. · Knowledge of project management techniques · Experience of L&E asset management, maintenance or project delivery
