Full Job Description

At Leonardo, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Assets and Logistics Technician to join the Joint Avionics Service (JAS) team within the Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) line of business. The CS3 line of business operates across the UK, providing innovative and invaluable support solutions to our customers. We help to ensure the availability of front-line capability wherever and whenever required. This role is based at RAF Coningsby within the JAS Supply Chain Team, reporting directly to the JAS Asset Manager, and working alongside the BAE Systems teams. We are looking for someone who is dedicated and thrives in a high-paced pressurised environment under minimal supervision in order to support the UK's Typhoon fleet. What you will do as a Senior Assets and Logistics Technician:

  • Point of Contact for RADAR and DASS SRI deliveries into the ARC
  • Carry out inspection for damage to the STC and the asset, ensuring all discrepancies are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Check all paperwork that is delivered with assets to ensure everything required to progress item is available to the Technicians.
  • Ensure that the Serial Numbers match the assets delivered.
  • Book Classified items in the F102.
  • Book all non-Classified items into the SRI folders for DASS & Radar.
  • To ensure the asset transfer is complete on TRS, to complete he transfer from CSF.
  • Receipt item onto SAMS system to clear demand.
  • Any SRIs that are placed into Bond will require adding to Bond Register and placed directly with the relevant LRI.
  • Any SRI delivered as Kanban stock will require labelling and placing in correct location.
  • Learn the relevant supply systems and processes required, as well as any that may be used within other areas of the SCMT.
  • Provide support in the form of attendance and/or data to assist relevant Team Leads/Management at Ops Reviews
  • Provide cover and deputise as required for other members of the JAS Supply Chain Team, during periods of holiday or sickness.

    A team player possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Extensive previous experience of working within a Logistics and/or Supply Chain environment, ideally with a background in RAF or Military Logistics.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge to support the wider JAS Supply Chain Team
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to drive and support continuous improvement
  • Highly competent with use and manipulation of software driven stock toolsets and databases
  • Ability to:
  • Work under broad direction, with minimal supervision, in challenging technical environments.
  • Manage workload in pressurised environments, across multiple tasks, ensuring a quality output to meet the customer demands.
  • Willingness to travel to company sites for work and training as required.
  • It would be preferable if you have any of the following:
  • Experience with MS Software Packages including Excel.
  • Ability to take ownership of a work package. Planning and scheduling own workload with minimal supervision/direction., You must be eligible for full security clearance.
