Full Job Description

We are looking for someone to become a member of our Dispensary Team, where you will provide support in delivering a high quality service to all Pharmacy customers. The innovative use of IT is important to us and we are continually looking for new opportunities. We have robotic dispensing, bar-coded prescription tracking, electronic prescribing and discharge systems. The department is friendly and supportive, operating within a modern environment having gone through a full refurbishment in winter 2017., Your role will include:

  • Dispensing inpatient and outpatient prescriptions and discharge medication.
  • Meeting and greeting people at the reception hatch and accepting outpatient prescriptions and taking prescription charges.
  • Stock control and associated tasks relating to stock management.
  • The department is a 24 hour department and the core hours for the dispensary are 9.00am until 9.00pm . This is a part time post: Wednesday 14.15-18.00, Thursday + Friday 09.30-18.00. You will also be required to work four Friday late night shifts in a 16 week period 11.30-20.00 and weekends and bank holidays. You will be required to complete a GPhC-approved dispensary Level 2 course.

    This position would suit someone with a keen eye for detail and who is able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including other healthcare professionals and members of the public. You will be a good team player, enthusiastic and proactive with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
