Full Job Description

As a member of the Surgical Pharmacy Team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive pharmacy support for the wards, including stock control, labelling, assembly, dispensing, and distribution of medicines that underpins our clinical services. You will play a proactive role in ensuring the safe and effective storage and supply of medicines on surgical wards, including suggesting solutions for our supply services. This position requires flexibility, as you will work both on the wards and in the dispensary to meet team and service needs. The service covers 7 wards at the St Thomas' site and 2 wards at the Guy's site, with our team working on both sites.

+ Ensure accurate dispensing of medicines and maintain comprehensive records.
+ Manage inventory, ensuring proper stock levels, rotation, and disposal of obsolete or expired medicines.
+ Collaborate with medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff to resolve issues and improve medicine supply processes.
+ Participate in research and audit activities to support pharmacy patient services.
+ Adhere to Trust policies, including those related to confidentiality, data protection, and infection control.
+ Promote the Trust's values by putting patients first, taking pride in your work, respecting others, striving for excellence, and acting with integrity.

You will work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and nurses to resolve medicines management issues on the ward.
