We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Associate/Senior Associate (4PQE+) to join our dedicated Fund Finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to get involved in a highly specialised and growing sector in finance, working alongside leading industry professionals. We support clients, including major banks and the most sophisticated asset managers, with delivering short, medium and long-term financial solutions. The successful candidate will join a team, led by partners Charles Bischoff (ranked in Chambers for Fund Finance and has sat on the Fund Finance Association's EMEA Executive Committee since its formation), Danny Peel (ranked in Chambers and Legal 500 for Fund Finance) and Laura Smith (promoted to the partnership in July 2024). They will work alongside around a dozen associates who focus on Fund Finance within the wider Finance Group comprised of ~30 associates. This is an opportunity to have a significant role on deals and within the team, working extremely closely with the partners but with plenty of junior support available. The candidate will have plenty of opportunity to be involved in a variety of business development activity organised by the partners, but in addition, all associates in the Finance Group receive 1-1 business development coaching from our embedded BD Manager and are empowered to bring their own ideas and pursue opportunities at their level. Key Responsibilities

  • Providing expert advice on an extensive range of fund finance products, including subscription lines, NAV and hybrids, GP support/co-investment facilities, and management fee facilities.
  • Collaborating closely with key partners across various sectors within the asset management practice, including Funds and Secondaries.
  • Sustaining strong relationships with our established client base, ensuring complete confidentiality in all dealings.
  • Playing an active role in attending and participating in key industry events such as the FFA's European Symposium and other networking events. We encourage participation in BD activities for career progression and networking opportunities.
  • Supporting the wider finance team in providing advice in other financial areas such as leveraged finance, infrastructure finance, and speciality finance.     An outstanding academic record.
  • Qualified Solicitor in a Common Law jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a similar role within a Fund Finance team.
  • Proven interest and competence in comprehending the evolving nature of finance products and the wider asset management market.
  • Competent in drafting and commercially astute.

The firm's wider asset management platform means that we also have a growing practice advising some of the most sophisticated asset managers as borrower on these same products. We work closely with partners across the asset management practice, particularly in Funds and Secondaries, and this collaboration has led to some of the most interesting work in the practice including some very exciting, highly structured NAVs, secondaries and more. Several of our Fund Finance clients are also entrenched across the wider Finance Group and we advise them in other areas including leveraged finance, infrastructure finance, real estate finance, and specialty finance. Whilst this role is expected to predominantly focus on Fund Finance, versatility is actively encouraged in the team and there is some opportunity to get involved in other areas.
