Our highly respected Infrastructure & Capital Projects (A&M INFRA) team is built on deep industry sector expertise with a demonstrably differentiated ability to address the most complex business problems and by supporting our owner/operator/contractor clients with the expertise of our deep project, Alvarez & Marsal's ultimate goal is to reduce the level of uncertainty associated with the development and operational
costs of your projects, contributing to greater shareholder value drawn from procurement through execution and asset management through different solutions. The Role A&M is expanding in EMEA, and we are looking to recruit Associates, Senior Associates, and Managers in our in London office. Working with some of the industry's brightest and most experienced colleagues, you will have an active role and involvement with less supervision in delivering complex infrastructure and capital projects from inception to completion in the context of performance improvement, digitization, delivery transformation, and operational turnaround. You will conduct detailed analysis, project coordination, interact with clients, support junior team members (e.g., analysts), contribute to project objectives, and report to directors or senior leadership. Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Be part of data analysis, project management activities, and client interactions, and may lead smaller tasks or components of projects.

  • Lead and manage specific project components or workstreams.

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and present findings and recommendations.

  • Participate in business development activities and proposal preparation.

  • Interact directly with clients to gather requirements and clarify project objectives.

  • Coordinate with different departments to ensure smooth project implementation.

  • Present project updates and findings to the project manager and client stakeholders.

  • Build client relationships, and understand needs of mid-level management in day-to-day interactions.


  • Qualifications:Essential:
  • Academic background in engineering, management or finance-related disciplines.

  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills.

  • Strong understanding of project and programme management principles.

  • Strong awareness of commercial management and financial analysis.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrable experience of team-working.

  • Willingness to travel.


  • Desirable:
  • Master's degree in engineering, management or finance-related disciplines.

  • Experience with internal project leadership of small teams and the ability to mentor junior staff.

  • Novel or academic research or thought leadership experience.

  • Previous exposure to areas such as capital strategy, project delivery assurance, digital capital projects, asset management, construction dispute resolution, and project excellence.

  • Prior full-time consulting experience or non-consulting (engineering) professional services work experience.


  • Competencies:
  • Demonstrable MS Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) proficiency to a high standard.

  • Ability to apply knowledge and skillset across new sectors or industries and to work in multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Prior use of project management software (MS Project, Oracle P6, PowerProject, etc).

  • Critical thinking skills providing fact-based recommendations, recognizing and addressing additional opportunities to serve the client, through an understanding of A&M's services.

  • Ability to work under pressure whilst demonstrating attention to detail, ensuring accurate, complete, and high-quality work.

  • Good interpersonal relationship skills to effectively interact at multiple level (internally and externally).
