This is a Southampton based role, and there will be a requirement to be in the office for a minimum of two days per week. Your Role and What You'll Be Doing The Court of Protection is the judicial body responsible for making decisions relating to the management of finances and other affairs of those individuals who lack the mental capacity to do so themselves. As one of the UK's leading firms of solicitors, we have a dedicated and experienced team who specialise in all matters relating to the Court of Protection. You'll join Partner Louisa Chadwick, a specialist in all areas of mental capacity and Court of Protection work with a primary focus on dealing with high value deputyships, as well as personal injury Trusts. Louisa has extensive experience of supporting vulnerable clients and providing advice to lay clients and professionals in this niche and specialised area of law. The successful candidate will manage a number of high value and/or complex cases within Court of Protection, whilst also taking on leadership duties for a small team which include coaching, mentoring, goal setting and employee relations, etc. You'll also be expected to lead on client work, proactively undertaking business development activities to support Partners in growing the business and delivering excellent client service., Our responsible business programmes are fundamental to who we are and our purpose. We're looking for a Senior Associate with a personable nature, who thinks critically, enjoys solving problems, has a passion for Court of Protection matters and wants to lead a small team. Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Qualified lawyer either via traditional SRA route or CILEX;
- The ability to effectively supervise and lead small teams to success;
- An aptitude for business development and a passion for growing strong client and referrer relationships;
- The ability to manage complex caseloads whilst maintaining attention to detail and a seamless service for clients;
- Demonstratable technical experience gained within Court of Protection and an understanding of the litigation process
