Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has risen for a senior paediatric audiologist, to carry out the day to day assessment and rehabilitation of children. This will entail undertaking simple and more complex test procedures in all cases with guidance, as appropriate. To follow the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP) guidance for the assessment and early intervention of patients referred from the programme. To fit and evaluate hearing aids, including digital hearing aids, by utilising Modernisation of Children's Hearing Aid Services (MCHAS) procedures. To have responsibility for specific aspects of the service. To liaise closely with Acute Audiology Service, Education and Speech and Language Therapy together with other specialist clinical technical, therapy, medical and nursing staff as required to ensure the best possible standard of patient care. The paediatric service is based at the Crystal Children's Development Centre, Croydon., You will be based at the Crystal Development Centre, Malling Close The department offers flexible working arrangements.

The post holder will be expected to have a BSc in audiology (or equivalent), RCCP/HCPC registered and significant experience working with paediatrics. We are looking for someone who is forward thinking and who is keen to develop further, both clinically and in a leadership/supervisory role. Ongoing training and CPD will be very much encouraged. Evidence of experience in paediatrics audiology is expected including undertaking developmentally appropriate audiological assessments in children of all ages, including those considered non-routine.
