Full Job Description

Develop and manage resource plans and bid budgets, and manage people and processes from initial market engagement, pre-qualification, and tender stages. The role encompasses programme and estimation reviews, risk compilation, liaison with the client and external stakeholders, and facilitating the development of win strategies

  • Effective bid management, capable of leading tenders with values of up to £2+Bn
  • Ensure a bid programme is in place. Review and monitor progress to resolve any issues
  • Review of pre-contract documents
  • Commercial and design liaison, working alongside the design, estimating and technical teams
  • To facilitate and present value engineering ideas throughout the process
  • Be fully conversant with all construction-related policies and directives from health and safety to CDM.
  • Identify and plan bid resource requirements, and ensure that bid team members are well-supported
  • Agree and maintain a bid budget, to manage bid cost and ensure value for money
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders, customers, supply chain partners
  • Lead and contribute to project co-ordination meetings
  • Work with technical and commercial teams to ensure compliance with governance requirements
  • Facilitate lessons learnt and ensure best practice is implemented for continuous improvement

    Degree / HND in Civil Engineering, Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Planning or other related disciplines - or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience of managing bids within the civil engineering and construction sectors.
  • Great project management skills, including excellent time management
  • Good design and construction methodology, planning and commercial awareness
  • Understanding corporate governance principles and processes.
  • IT literacy - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Good team leader/team player.
