Senior Biomedical Scientist (Backbench Senior)

To supervise laboratory staff and contribute to the day to day management of the department. To be the senior in charge of the quality control area under the direction of the Deputy lead BMS/Advanced Practitioner with overall responsibility in this area. To take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the backbench, HE600/MEGA Special staining and associated quality control section of the laboratory service under the direct supervision and in liaison with the Deputy Lead BMS/AP. To develop and maintain the Standard Operating Procedures within BSPS Histology in collaboration with other senior staff as appropriate in this area To supervise the performance of any relevant subordinate staff within BSPS Histology as appropriate in the QC area To be responsible for the day to day provision of the Histopathology technical service when working on the FPH, ESH or ASPH site, under the direction of the Lead BMS in Histology. To interview relevant job candidates and be involved in or lead the
selection process, liaising with the Human Resource Department and laboratory management where necessary.
