Full Job Description

The Pathology departments at University Hospitals North Tees and Hartlepool (NTH) and South Tees Hospitals (STH) are working collaboratively to develop a joint service called Tees Valley Pathology (TVP) with services being delivered on all hospital sites. The expectation this post will cover TVP - James Cook University Hospital, North Tees University Hospital and Friarage, Northallerton., Tees Valley Pathology provide a wide range of investigations to support the clinical activity within a busy progressive Trust and surrounding primary care locations.
The Clinical Chemistry department is well equipped, with a Siemens Labcell system and associated analysers performing the bulk of the automated tests, supported by a variety of stand-alone automation and manual systems to provide the esoteric work. The Department is accredited by UKAS against ISO15189. There is a 24/7 shift system in operation in which the successful candidate will be required to participate across all sites.
The Senior Biomedical Scientists manage the sections of the laboratory, supervise and train staff and assist with the development of the laboratory. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong leadership skills to enhance the team.
