Full Job Description
The RoleAs a Senior Brachytherapy Radiographer , you will play a pivotal role in our multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality brachytherapy treatment to our patients.
You will be responsible for: Delivering precise and effective brachytherapy treatments Ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout their treatment journey. Collaborating closely with oncologists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals.
Contributing to the development and implementation of innovative treatment techniques and protocols.
Take the lead on preparation and treatment delivery of high dose irradiation, being responsible for the removal of the radioactive source in the event of an emergency.
Oversee the decision making process on the brachytherapy unit, while operating within protocol and request senior assistance for decision making outside of protocol.
To ensure all brachytherapy staff in the team are aware of the quality system and are able to use it. To assist with training of radiotherapy staff in the system.
To inform the Brachytherapy specialist or Services manager of any problems that may affect the smooth running of the Department. To be aware and report any variances in the performance of equipment by the normal reporting system and to organise regular equipment servicing.
