An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experience Breast Care nurse to join our team in breast surgery as a Senior Nurse Specialist. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Nurse to join our team as a lead. This is a role which will be primarily focussed on supporting patients once on the patient initiated follow up pathway, however, there will be some job planned low risk and one-stop clinics.
We are looking for a dynamic experienced individual who is productive and patient focused, and as centred as us in our purpose to treat our patients with exceptional care. The individual will need excellent communication skills to network and interact with staff and colleagues at all levels. You will need experience in supporting patients at diagnosis and through the cancer pathway and post treatment.
We are seeking to maintain and expand our team of Clinical Nurse Specialist's as we move into an exciting new future. This is a great opportunity to work within a fantastic team where you will be working very closely with Nurse Specialists, Doctors, Consultants, Radiologists and the wider MDT.
Please note we reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the closing date once the required number of suitable applications have been received, This exciting role will give the post-holder the opportunity to contribute to the specialist care and management of patients, mainly in the outpatient setting, who have been referred with a suspected diagnosis, diagnosed or treated for cancer. This team are passionate about using their expertise to offer a very high standard of care and emotional support to patients.
A period of supernumerary practice will be given and your development will be through a competency-based framework which you will complete whilst in post. There will be plenty of opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills with support for on-going professional development to advance your clinical skills and practice.

Provide education and training to other staff.
Within the focus of Specialist Practice ( Breast Care):
Assist in specialist nursing procedures and clinical support for this
designated group of patients.
As a member of the breast sub unit will be involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of the service and the specialist nursing care provided, for this designated group of patients. This input is maintained throughout the patient journey from initial assessment, throughout surgical treatment and until discharge following patient initiated follow up.
Assist in specialist education and training to members of the multidisciplinary team, nursing colleagues and others external to the organisation.
Participate in research and clinical audit in own specialist area of practice.
This post is both a senior clinical post and a leadership role.
