Full Job Description

We are seeking an Engineer or Senior Engineer with 2-3 years of post-qualification experience to join our client s vibrant team in Central London. As part of a dedicated group of professionals within a larger department, you ll contribute to delivering a broad range of building consultancy services. In this role, you will work closely with a diverse range of clients, including international investors, major corporations, and investment funds. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting technical due diligence, dilapidation surveys, life cycle assessments, and asset verification. Additionally, you will diagnose defects, plan preventative maintenance schedules, negotiate terms, and audit maintenance processes. Your work will primarily focus on office and operational real estate across London and the South East.,

  • Contribute to the delivery of building services engineering projects within the London Engineering Consultancy, ensuring high standards and successful outcomes.
  • Take charge of managing client relationships and project teams to deliver services efficiently, meeting both quality and profitability targets.
  • Execute surveys and produce reports autonomously, ensuring that all work aligns with project goals and company guidelines.
  • Your work will involve:
  • Conducting technical due diligence for potential purchasers and occupiers, coordinating with specialized consultants as needed.
  • Preparing due diligence reports for property vendors, including single assets and portfolios.
  • Performing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) inspections and generating detailed reports.
  • Drafting Schedules of Dilapidations and supporting the surveying team in negotiations for landlords or tenants.
  • Developing provisional dilapidation reports for occupiers.
  • Creating asset verification and life cycle plans, along with forward maintenance schedules.
  • Drafting performance specifications, managing tender processes, and overseeing refurbishment projects.
  • Adhere to our client s policies and quality management systems, ensuring compliance throughout all project phases.
  • Actively support the department s business objectives and contribute to meeting its revenue goals.

    Ideally, a recently qualified Chartered Engineer with experience in commercial surveying, though candidates with a background in hard services management are also encouraged to apply.
  • A valid driving license and the flexibility to travel within the UK and Europe as required.
  • A team-oriented individual who is sociable and works well with both colleagues and clients.
  • You should be confident and assertive when necessary, yet understand the importance of discretion.
  • Strong written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to foster and maintain client connections.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, supporting colleagues and related departments.
  • A solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, life safety, and public health systems, with the ability to assess their condition effectively.
