Full Job Description
The British Museum is at an exciting phase of its technical development with many older legacy systems currently being updated with new technologies. This brings many opportunities for development, but also many changes and challenges. We are looking for an internal consultant to run the replacement of the Museum's HR system, as such experience either procuring, implementing, replacing or configuring HR systems is required. You will also support the Museum's wider digital and technology transformation programme and you will play an essential role by identifying and addressing business challenges. You will work across the Museum to: i. Understand existing business needs and individual stakeholder requirements. You will achieve this through discovery exercises, workshops, and stakeholder engagement ii. Document findings in report papers. Papers will clearly articulate existing challenges, scope of the project, objectives, options analysis, and recommendations iii. Engage with wider market and technology suppliers, test solutions, support procurement processes, and make final recommendations Experience procuring, sourcing and implementing HR systems for large organisations is highly preferable, though not mandatory. However, an understanding of implementing IT systems is required. - You will be highly organized with the ability to manage several ongoing projects in tandem. Able to work with numerous stakeholders to plan and manage resources.
- You will have demonstrated ability to manage conflicting timelines and work on multiple projects to meet deadlines.
- You will have excellent communications skill, both orally and in writing. You will be able to clearly articulate existing business challenges, findings, and recommendations through written reports and oral presentations.
- Ability to establish relationships and work effectively across all levels of the organisation. The ideal candidate will also have experience working across different parts of large organisations, translating technical requirements into business needs.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and the ability to carefully evaluate and balance, sometimes conflicting, needs of Museum departments against the overall strategy.
- Have an inquisitive mindset. The ideal candidate will be naturally curious with a passion for understanding how the organisation works and the ability to design new and improved processes.
- Have experience working with IT, notably with HR systems and process.
