Thepostholderwillworkaspart of adynamic team in delivering an effective servicesupportingmanagers and staff across the NHP team at national level but linking in with the NHP regionalteams Itis an excitingopportunitytodevelopandimplementbusinessmanagement framework for the division and lead on its delivery The role supports the business in driving transformation as well asvalue for moneyin planning,commissioningandservice.Theroleisdesignedtobuild a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery TheNHPbusinessmanagerrolewillbeto: · Designaframeworkforallbusinessmanagementactivity forthe NHPdivision · Engagementwithseniorstakeholders · Responsible for coordinating NHPshort, mediumand long-term strategy and plans · Ensuretheteamhas suitableinformationandadministrativesystems and processes in place to meet the business objectives of the NHP division linked to directorate and corporate objectives · ResponsibilityforNHPbudgetmanagement · Supportbudgetsettingnegotiations · Draftingbusiness casesforthedivision · Managingthe procurementprocesseswith supportfromcentralPMO · Identificationandmanagementof anybusinessrelatedrisks andissues · Ensure robustfinancialgovernance isinplace · Supportworkstreamleadsindraftingbusinesscasesandmanagement of approvals process The post-holderwillbe the keycontactfor all NHP division business matters including, but not limited to: · Leadingthedesignandimplementationof businessmanagement framework for the NHP division · Responsible for linking NHP short, medium and long-term objectivesto CommercialDirectorate and corporate objectives · ResponsibleforthedeliveryassuranceforNHPobjectives · Responsible for drafting, agreeingand implementing robust governanceandprocessforallmatters relatedthedivisionsbusiness · ResponsibleforlinkinginwithNHSE&ICommercial Directorate business management workstream for all business matters · ResponsibleformanagingNHPbudgets · LeadingonNHSE&IFinancialsystemmanagement-NHPelement · Responsible for linkingin with Improvement and Commercial centralfinanceteam andholdingmonthly andquarterlybudgetReviews · Supportingthe NHPseniorteamonad-hocbasis as and whenrequired

  • Establishingan internalnetworkof otherbusinessmanager includingCommercialdirectoratetoensurecomplianceand
  • · developing best practice for the division · ResponsibleformanagingtheNHPstructure · Responsible forsupportthedivisiononallHRmatters including recruitment and the associated processes · ResponsibleformanagingNHPcostcentres

    Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
  • Leave: 27 days per year and 8 bank holidays, pro rata if part-time. Leave increases to 29 days per year after 5 years' service and 33 days per year after 10 years' service. Pension: The NHS Pension Scheme is based on length of service and salary at retirement (not dependent on investment returns).
