Full Job Description

As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the most cost effective and efficient inflow of materials and services through the application of purchasing best practice in accordance with Baker Hughes operating principles.
  • Leading end to end sourcing activities to identify new suppliers to increase competition and reduce single source risk.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders, managing problems and scheduling changes including update of ERP and communications to stakeholders.
  • Being the first point of escalation for supplier queries from the buyers.
  • Advising Functional managers regarding projects, procurement processes and procedures
  • Detecting opportunities for improvements in processes and procedures
  • Being accountable for delivery of annual savings targets
  • Managing supplier on time/in full delivery performance in line with set targets
  • Developing strategy commodity plan to deliver value and reduce risk
  • Managing cash performance through extending supplier payment terms
  • Leading various procurement activities, consolidating, rationalizing, and aligning suppliers and appropriate methodologies for all the supply chain challenges.
  • Delivering an exceptional level of customer experience to all internal stakeholders
  • Having potential line management responsibilities.

    Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Hold MCIPs accreditation or working towards
  • Have Lean/Six Sigma experience
  • Have significant experience in Sourcing or Buying-Procurement,
  • Have experience coordinating several projects simultaneously.
  • Have good problem solving, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Be a Team player, proactive attitude, flexible to meet tight deadlines and able to perform well under pressure.
  • Be available to travel when required
