Full Job Description

SLR provide expert advice spanning all aspects of highways and transportation planning, design and modelling. We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior CAD Technician to assist colleagues in the delivery of a wide range of transport assessments for various clients across the UK using standard modelling packages and recognised appraisal and design techniques., You will be responsible for the provision of specialised technical advice and drawings for the management of projects. You will also be assisting the wider business on technical and non-technical design tasks using a range of design and CAD software packages such as Adobe Illustrator, Civil 3D, Map 3D, KeySIGNS, KeyLINES GIS and AutoCAD., As a Senior CAD Technician your role will be varied and include responsibilities such as:

  • Providing technical advice to colleagues and clients
  • Producing high quality plans for public consultation or inquiries
  • Producing drawings, diagrams and data for colleagues and clients
  • Undertaking on-site measurements and collecting associated data to inform design work
  • Reviewing and assessing new advances in relevant technology
  • Comply with all operational requirements and systems

    We are looking for an experienced and ambitious CAD Technician, with:
  • Experience developing preliminary highway schemes, the design of priority junctions, signal controlled junctions and roundabouts to relevant design standards
  • Knowledge of car park layout design / multi storey car park design including access ramps to relevant guidance
  • Knowledge of cycle scheme design (LTN-1-20 / CD145 / LCDS)
  • Expert use of AutoCAD software
  • Expert use of Vehicle Tracking software
  • Experience using additional software packages is advantageous (Civil 3D, Map 3D, Keylines, Keysigns)
