Full Job Description
The post holder will work within Salford Youth Justice Service as a CAMHS clinician. One working day will be spent based within Salford CAMHS service. Successful candidate is required to manage a caseload and provide a range of high quality care appropriate to the child or young person's needs which will include; mental state assessment, risk assessment and management, providing consultation to colleague's within Youth Justice and to wider networks such as social care and, Greater Manchester Police and courts. The post holder will have a range of skills and knowledge to deliver care in a multi-agency team setting and receive clinical supervision from the CAMHS youth justice clinical lead, management supervision from local CAMHS service, and peer supervision with the CAMHS and youth justice teams. Experience of assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions will be advantageous., 1. To work autonomously undertaking assessment of referrals from Salford Youth Justice Service. Gathering of appropriate information from the child, their family and from other relevant agencies.
2. Following assessment, to develop a formulation and plan for intervention, negotiating this with the patient and parents and communicating this to the referrer and other relevant professionals.
3. To implement and manage further assessment and intervention utilising the skills and expertise of the multi disciplinary team, and other agencies where appropriate.
4. To manage your own case load within the YJ team, effectively managing your own capacity.
5. To actively participate in clinical supervision.
6. To attend and contribute to multi disciplinary team meetings and multi agency meetings.
7. To provide consultation and liaison with other professionals working in other Children's Social care and Health service
8. To work from a multi agency perspective in liaison with other professionals
9. To attend and contribute to professional meetings within YJ and Core CAMHS as required
10. To keep accurate, timely and thorough records of care provided to all patients, including the compilation of appropriate statistics.
11. To provide written reports as required and within timescale
12. To be responsible for the management of agreed tasks in relation to specific services/resources within the Department to ensure the efficient and safe running of that aspect of the service.
